Description

This superb soup tureen and tray duo is by the leading French silversmiths Tétard Frères. The silver tureen is of oval form, with an undulating, gadrooned body raised on four ornate scroll feet and set to either side with wonderfully rendered loop handles. The bowl is surmounted by a domed cover, which is topped with an elaborately cast finial comprised of a large artichoke and various other vegetable forms. The tureen is set atop an accompanying tray, crafted in a conforming manner.

The silver is fully hallmarked for Tétard Frères.
