Description

Richly veneered amboyna forms the rim and body of this remarkable piece. Set on marble legs, and adorned with beautiful gilt-bronze elements, it is set apart from other works by the radiant and bright stained glass elements that adorn the table surface.

The legs of grey marble sit in sets of four pairs between the upper surface and the wooden frame base. The glass is adorned with scenes of aristocrats and hunting dogs, across multiple panels and arranged around a multi-coloured array of green, blue and red glass areas. The glass is probably a later addition, yet lights up the work beautifully, giving it a wonderful vibrant quality that is truly unique. The glass is signed 'Mormesse.'
