Rare and grand, this fine piece is a large Louis XV period ormolu mounted commode, with a grey veined marble top, and a curved arcing shape to the front. Featuring two small drawers and two larger full-width ones below, it bears a partial stamp and the letters 'JME.'Â
Dating to the time of Louis XV, it is a fine demonstration of that style, exemplified by the luxurious arcing bombe forms. Ormolu mounts adorn the front of each draw, and in between down the centre, while further gilt elements line the corners top and bottom. This commode makes for an excellent antique piece, full of style, history, and presence.
