The ormolu (gilt bronze) mantel clock features a cylindrical clock case. This features a circular white enamel dial with navy Roman and Arabic Numerals. This dial is set behind a glass lens within a twisted ribbon bezel. The case around the dial is decorated with stylised leafy branches and a cartouche. The clock movement is signed 'Roblin/ & Fils Frere/ A Paris'.
The case is supported between the legs of a table-form body. These legs are linked by a stretcher, and feature hoof feet and leafy scrolled tops which are draped with swags. The table-form top they support is stepped and rectangular with scalloped corners. It is decorated with egg-and-dart and leaf-and-dart mouldings, as well as a central Green Man mask.
The table-shaped body is surmounted by outward-pointing pinecone forms and laurel branches. Its centre is topped by a classical covered urn which is fitted with two handles in the shape of rams' heads, holding rings in their mouths. The urn is decorated with twisted ropework, stylised acanthus leaves, fluting filled with husk trails, swags, and a pomegranate finial.
