This Louis XVI style buffet is crafted from mahogany, satinwood, and tulipwood, surmounted by a marble top, and mounted throughout with ormolu (gilt bronze). The buffet is surmounted by a mirrored backboard, framed in mahogany, which sits above the shaped Serravezza Breccia marble top. The apron below, curved at each end, is inset with a central frieze drawer. This drawer resides above two shelves below, also with curved sides, the sides of the top shelf featuring ormolu galleries. The buffet stands on toupie feet fitted with ormolu sabots.
The mahogany throughout is inlaid with satinwood and tulipwood veneers, and the surfaces are adorned with Neoclassical style ormolu mounts, including the acanthus-leaf and rope-twist form drawer handle and the partial ormolu pilasters mounted to the tops of each of the vertical supports.
