Maison Mottheau et fils (French, 19th Century)

Maison Mottheau et Fils was a renowned design and bronzier firm in late 19th Century Paris. The company became particularly well known for their lighting fixtures, after being critically acclaimed at the Universal Paris Exhibition in 1900 for their 'Torchere Lumineuse'. Maison Mottheau collaborated with leading contemporaneous sculptors to perfect their lighting pieces such as chandeliers, wall lights and candelabra. In addition, the firm often produced bronzes for important Parisian cabinet makers.
