Amethyst

Amethyst is semi-precious, bright violet stone, that is highly prized for its vibrant appearance and beauty. Often used in the production of fine antique jewellery, amethyst was particularly prized among 19th Century European nobility. Intriguingly, the ancient Greeks believed that the presence of amethyst could prevent drunkenness.
