Mid-century rosewood and stainless steel coffee table by Quistgaard

This exceptional coffee table was designed by Jens Harald Quistgaard (1919–2008), the acclaimed Danish designer and sculptor. Quistgaard is best known for his pivotal role in popularizing Scandinavian modern design among American, European, and Japanese audiences through his collaboration with Dansk Designs. 

The table features a square rosewood top, its natural grain beautifully enhanced by a rich wood stain. Four stainless steel circles adorn the surface, drawing the eye toward the table’s four legs. The metal supports are connected by rosewood stretchers, each elegantly tapering at the ends. Manufactured by Richard Nissen, founder of Nissens Trævarefabrik, this coffee table exemplifies the exceptional craftsmanship and refined aesthetics of fine Danish design.
