Description

This fine Easter egg, crafted from gilt metal, green guilloché enamel, and white gemstones, is by the House of Fabergé. The egg opens to reveal an interior floral bud, which holds a removable pendant. The egg is raised on a gilt metal stand and contained within a fitted container.

While the present piece is by Fabergé, some confusion exists between Fabergé as it existed during the 19th and early 20th centuries as a Russian jeweller, and Fabergé as it exists today. During the 20th Century, American companies acquired the right to use the name Fabergé, a story retold on the company’s current website. The present piece, by Fabergé, was produced during this later phase of the company's history.
