This hardwood furniture suite is comprised of a tall corner cabinet, a side table and an upholstered stool. In its style, this furniture suite is inspired by Moorish works of art and architecture, such as The Alhambra palace in Granada, Andalusia, Spain.
The cabinet is divided into three levels, which includes a closed centre and open bottom and top. The lowest level features an open arcade supported on miniature turned columns. This arcade is composed of a large central multifoil (or scalloped) arch, flanked by two smaller onion-shaped arches. Above, the centre of the cabinet contains a storage space, which is closed behind two doors. On the upper level, there are two open horseshoe (or keyhole) arches, set on turned columns. The cabinet body is covered with finely carved stylised foliate motifs, scrolling vines and geometric patterns. The piece is also dotted with eight- and six-pointed stars, created from inlaid mother-of-pearl.
The side table and stool are decorated in a similar manner to the corner cabinet. The table is of rectangular form, and its sides are pierced with scrolled motifs, shaped arches, and diamonds containing turned spindles. Like the cabinet, the table is heavily carved with geometric motifs, continuous vine patterns and mother-of-pearl six-point stars and circles. The stool similarly features openwork sides, which are highly decorated with diaperwork, foliate patterns, mother-of-pearl circles and stars, and bands of turned spindles. The stool is upholstered in a vibrant red fabric.
