Description

The garniture comprises a central pot-pourri urn and a pair of flanking vases, and dates from the 19th Century, with later lapis lazuli veneer.

The pot-pourri urn is mounted on a square ormolu plinth, upon which is set a smaller square form lapis lazuli veneered base. A circular ormolu mount in the form of a laurel wreath sits on the base, leading to a waisted support with a second leaf-form ormolu band above, where the support meets the body of the urn. The body of the urn is oval shaped, and veneered in lapis lazuli, with a central pierced ormolu band and twin rams' head handles at either side. The top of the urn is mounted with an ormolu pine cone finial.

The pair of flanking vases are each identically decorated and compliment the central pot-pourri urn. They are each set on square-form ormolu plinths, and feature circular ormolu bases with laurel leaves and foliate decorations. The ovoid bodies of the vases are again veneered in lapis lazuli, and feature ormolu leaves mounted to the bottom and swags hung from upper twin ormolu rams' head handles. The vases feature lapis lazuli veneered covers, which sit upon pierced, foliate ormolu banding. The vases, like the urn, are topped with an ormolu pine cone finial.
