The set is comprised of a central mantel clock and pair of candelabra. The clock features a malachite urn-shaped case which is set on a shaped rectangular malachite base. The base is decorated with ormolu (gilt bronze) beading and foliate motifs, and the case is mounted with ormolu leafy scrolls, swags and classical female masks. At the centre of the malachite case, there is a circular white enamel dial featuring black Roman and Arabic Numerals, and the maker’s name, 'Vor Paillard & Romain / Fants de Bronzes / Paris'. This dial is displayed behind a glass lens, within an ovolo-decorated ormolu bezel. The bezel is topped by a leafy ormolu motif with husk trails. Surmounting the clock case is an ormolu model after the ‘Diana of Gabbi’ by Praxiteles. The sculpture depicts the goddess Artemis wearing a loosely draped chiton (dress). The goddess picks at a fibula (broach) on her right shoulder, causing the chiton to elegantly slip off her left shoulder.
This set also includes a pair of candelabra, which are of similar design. The candelabra stand on urn-shaped malachite bodies, which are mounted with ormolu foliate motifs, scrolls, masks and cartouches. These malachite bodies are topped by ormolu vases, featuring twin animal head handles with rings in their mouths. The ormolu candle-holders spring from these vases. Each candelabrum features eight ormolu arms, centred on a ninth. These terminate in wide drip pans and urn-shaped capitals with sconces.
