Description

After the 18th Century models commissioned by Dominiques Daguerre (d. 1796), Sèvres porcelain factory.

The central dark blue porcelain body mounted around the rim with snake form twin handles and central ribbons above a square ormolu base.

A pair of the original jardinieres of this form are on display in the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, bought by Walpole (named after the Duc du Choiseul) between 1765 and 1769 on one of his trips to Paris. Museum No: 743-1882.
