Description

Of the same size and almost identical gilding, this beautiful clock and barometer set comprises a pair of works, with rich and decadent floral decoration, and enamel cartouches to the dials.

Made by the esteemed bronziers Édouard-François and Camille, who continued the foundry set up by their father Louis Lerolle (1813-1875), and were known as the "Lerolle Frères," these magnificent works are elaborately and richly adorned with gilt-bronze in a floral style. The dial faces are sculpted with shallow reliefs with a bust to the centre, and are mounted with enamel cartouches for the displays, also signed 'Lerolle Frères.'
