The English glassmaking firm F&C Osler were responsible for making some of the very finest glassware in the history of antiques. This sofa, with extensive and intricately-faceted cut glass elements, pays homage to the beautiful works Osler created.
The sofa is large enough to seat two people comfortably side by side. It features four cut glass legs, supporting a broadly proportioned seat and backrest, which are lavishly upholstered in purple velvet with a plush buttoning design. The seat is flanked by upholstered armrests supported by five cut glass columns, and the backrest features sparkling cut glass details all around, including a pair of outer ball finials and two, curved cartouches surmounted with sunbeam motifs.
This sofa would make a wonderful set along with this sumptuous pair of chairs in the same majestic style.
