Pair of antique French carved giltwood mirrors

Each mirror in the pair features a rectangular giltwood frame. The frame of each is a superb demonstration of wood carving: the main body of the frame is carved to resemble naturalistic branches, complete with winding grain and knots. This realistic structure is further adorned with integral foliage: holly leaves and berries abound, with vines twisting and writhing, and abundant leaves, both upright and limp, carved throughout the surface. The top of each is adorned with an ornate crown centred with a crest of a broad, pierced holly spray; the bottom of each is similarly adorned, set with a sprig of holly leaves.
