Pair of Baccarat parcel gilt turquoise glass vases
By Baccarat (French, founded 1764)
£26,000
These superb vases are remarkable examples of Baccarat’s work, especially because of their beautiful turquoise ground and deftly painted floral bouquet decorations.
The beautiful Baccarat vases in this pair are highly unusual examples of the firm’s design, with the turquoise ground and lilac-grey cartouches being particularly rare colour combinations. The vases are of traditional shape, each with a turquoise ground overpainted with polychrome floral bouquets and stylised parcel gilt garlands and acanthus leaves. The sides of the bodies and necks of the vases feature gilt cartouches with grey-lilac ground and further painted floral arrangements.
