This pair of Chinese stands is crafted from stained hardwood and veined red marble. Each stand is supported by four carved legs, raised by clawed ball feet and connected by an open diamond-form stretcher.
The apron of each stand is exceptionally ornate, the wood richly carved and pierced to produce beautiful openwork foliate forms. Above the apron is the shaped, loosely circular wooden top, which is inset with a shaped piece of veined red marble.
