This beautiful pair of vases features the classic combination of deep blue lapis lazuli and glistening gilt bronze, both brought together in the Empire style.
This pair of baluster form vases features lapis lazuli ovoid bodies and Empire style ormolu mounts. Each vase, raised above a square ormolu base with scalloped corners and an ormolu waisted socle, features a beautiful lapis lazuli body set with superb ormolu mounts, most strikingly the twin swan-neck handles set to the shoulders and joined by a highly ornate foliate garland. Each vase is topped with a pierced ormolu rim and set with an ormolu lid.
The vases, which were manufactured during the late 19th Century, have benefited from a later lapis lazuli veneer.
