Description

This fine pair of guéridons, or circular side tables, is crafted from malachite and both gilt and patinated bronze in the Empire style.

Each table features an octagonal malachite top encompassed by a pierced ormolu gallery, the top sided with panels of malachite set within an ormolu frame. The top of each table is supported by four patinated bronze winged sphinxes, each sphinx surmounted by an ormolu foliate capital and raised on an ormolu horn-shaped pedestal. The four legs terminate in patinated bronze paw feet, which are connected by a pierced gallery stretcher.
