The cassolettes, tall and slender, are set with masterfully cast ormolu mounts, the golden tone of which contrasts beautifully against their lustrous malachite bodies—the malachite veneer being a later addition.
Each cassolette features a large malachite bowl, supporting a fluted ormolu cover, topped with a berry finial. This style of detailing is mirrored vertically below with a further berry drop finial mounted to the base of each of the bowls. The bowls are held in place upon triform supports with bearded, elfin masks leading to cabriole legs that terminate in hoof feet. To the centre of the support is a scrolling and twisting snake, which features startlingly lifelike stippling to create the effect of scales.
The cassolettes are mounted onto triform plinths of malachite and are set upon ormolu toupie feet.
