The jugs in this pair, which are crafted from silver mounted crystal, feature bulbous, twisted, and ribbed crystal bodies. The socles and slender necks of the jugs are mounted with solid silver, and feature further twisted ribbing, as well as curved c-scrolls, acanthus leaves, and rocaille motifs—all hallmarks of the Rococo Revival style. Each jug is set with an ornate silver handle and a spout topped with a hinged scallop shell cover.
The silver is fully hallmarked, featuring a maker’s mark ‘LP’ and the Minerva French silver mark. Furthermore, each jug features an interlaced monogram to the front of the neck.
