The fine picture frames in this pair are crafted from ebonised wood and silver. Each frame features an ebonised wood border inset with an elaborate silver mount moulded in the Art Nouveau style with flowing forms and floral motifs: to the top and right side, the silver is formed in high relief, with flowers and leaves emerging from the surface of the silver.
The frames feature an easel backing, and the silver of each is marked with standard Italian silver marks, including the mark for the city of Ancona, where the pair was produced.
