Description

Each with gilded decoration of flowers and trees on a rich blue porcelain ground, these beautiful vases were first made in China and subsequently exported to France, whereupon they were mounted with gilt-bronze finials of flowers and fruits, and raised on ormolu bases with paw feet.

Thus, they combine superb Chinese porcelain, with excellent European metalwork, the gold of which mirrors the gilding on the vases, to create a highly successful pair of pieces of 19th century craft and design. The porcelain is Chinese, the ormolu French, 19th Century, height 57cm.
