These beautiful candelabra are large in size, feature wonderful full-length porcelain subjects, and were made with great skill and artistry by the Samson manufactory in the late nineteeth century.
In the Louis XV style, and each consisting of five light branches in gilt-bronze, they feature large full-length porcelain figures of a man and woman playing musical instruments. Made as a symmetrical pair, they stand in a carefree graceful manner, and look wistfully towards each other while they play: she carries a large guitar-like stringed instrument, while he plays a French bagpipe instrument, possibly a cabrette.
With the Samson mark, they stand around 68cm in height; the porcelain figures are removeable and can stand separately as shown.Â
