Each work naturalistically modelled and vibrantly coloured, this pair of Meissen porcelain parrots sit side by side, and represent the charm and quality of the excellent animal sculptures made by this famed porcelain manufactory.
Standing upon a pair of tree-stumps, which are applied with leaves and flowers, and one of them with cherries, they are richly coloured with yellow and shades of red and orange, with shades of blue to the end of their wings. They are both marked with underglaze blue crossed sword marks and impressed numbers, and date codes for 1986 and 1988. They stand 42 and 43cm tall, and are beautiful and charming works for the suitable collector.
