Made in France in the late 19th century, these stunning vases showcase the ever successful combination of malachite and ormolu, rich green and radiant gilt embellishments, in sublime style.
Of a somewhat unusual yet curious design, they are mounted on small, squared feet with curved indented corners, and rise to their widest point around a large curved rim, adorned with gilt foliate ribbons and large reed-like handles mounted above gilt faces. They are mounted with covers, and are adorned with a various of gilt bands and friezes from base to top. They are cast in gilt-bronze with a later malachite veneer.
Beautiful decorative wares, they are sure to bring a vibrancy and grandeur to any interior in which they are located.
