This beautiful pair of guéridons—or circular side tables—is wrought from malachite and ormolu in the distinctive Louis XVI style. The tables are in the manner of the celebrated ébéniste Adam Weisweiler, with aspects of their design, such as the aprons and the legs, reminiscent of Weisweiler’s work.
Each table features a circular malachite top encompassed by a moulded ormolu rim and set above a malachite apron, with the apron adorned with ormolu rosettes and laurel sprays. Each table is supported by four ormolu legs, each leg modelled as a caryatid and connected by an intricate looped X-form malachite and ormolu stretcher. Below the stretcher, each table is raised by four twist-fluted feet.
