Description

This pair of elegant French table lamps was manufactured by Daum in the mid 20th century.

Of an identical design, the crystal lamps are of a tapering cube form, with flowing detailing on two of the four sides. Due to this subtle detailing, the lamps appear to be of different designs, depending on the angle they are looked at.

Each lamp is mounted with original lampshades made from cream-coloured fabric with a brown border framing the top and bottom of each one. Their pared-down design complements Daum’s crystal masterpieces, simultaneously drawing attention to them.

Daum manufactory was founded in France in 1878 by Jean Daum and still functions today. A prestigious manufacturer of glass and crystal works, the company collaborated with many artists and designers to create stunning functional and decorative pieces. During the mid-20th century the Daum firm produced crystal pieces of high quality and this pair of table lamps are an exquisite example of the manufactory’s high quality work.

The pieces are engraved with ‘Daum France’.

Of a charming design, embodying the paired down, elegant mid-century modern style, this pair of table lamps makes a superb addition to the appropriate interior space.
