Description

The pair of pedestals is crafted from ormolu and malachite, which exudes a rich, emerald-green colour, and contrasts beautifully with the gilt bronze mounts. The pedestals, which are wrought in the Neoclassical style, are designed to resemble ancient Greek sacrificial tripods, a timeless form in decorative art.

Each pedestal is raised on a trefoil malachite base, set above three ormolu bun feet and mounted with an ormolu edge frieze to the top and square rosettes to each side. This base supports three curved ormolu legs, each terminating in a hoof foot and culminating in a ram’s head mask. The three ormolu legs support a malachite top with a circular profile plateau. This top, set with foliate ormolu mounts, features a bulbous lower section which terminates in a pinecone ormolu finial.

This fine pair of pedestals can be paired with conforming candelabra, available here.
