The urns are suited to holding potpourri, and feature wide, deep bodies and large lids with perforations. Each urn sits on a square ormolu plinth, leading to a waisted circular ormolu mount decorated with stylized acanthus leaf forms. Sitting atop the waisted ormolu bases are the main bodies and lids of the urns, formed of porcelain in a deep, dark blue ground. The lid and bowl of each urn are intersected by pierced ormolu mounts, each featuring twin lion head ormolu handles with drapes. The lid of each urn is surmounted with an ormolu pine cone finial.
The urns are signed 'Raingo Fres Paris' to each of the bases and feature numeric stamps to the interior of each lid.
The urns are made after the model by Jean Dulac (French, 1704-1786) by Raingo Freres (French, founded 1823).
