The two vases are of the Greek hydra form, featuring waisted bases, large, downward tapered bodies and waisted necks with covers. The body of each of the vases is decorated with relief scenes of putti, who wear laurel leaves on their heads and play upon grass in a landscape with trees, all set on a sky blue ground. Above the putti, swags of laurel leaves are hung between twin handles, which each take the form of a satyr. The bases, necks and covers are decorated with white fluting on a royal blue ground, and feature burgundy banding. The covers are surmounted with red, green and cream finials.
