Pair of Bohemian blue flash overlay cut-glass decanters

The glass decanters are of almost identical design. They feature blue ovoid bodies which are finely cut with central medallions, surrounded by shaped panels containing cross-hatchings. The medallions are enamelled with colourful floral motifs, encircled by gilt dots. The cut designs are parcel gilt and the rest of their bodies are decorated with enamel orange and yellow C-scroll patterns. The shoulders of the decanters feature clear glass scallop forms which are enamelled with colourful flowers and scrollwork.

Topping the decanters’ bodies are tall blue necks with clear glass grooved channels which are decorated with enamel scrollwork and floral motifs. The necks are encircled by gilt faceted bands and topped by octagonal gilt mouths. The decanters are covered by blue mushroom-shaped stoppers with pointed tips. These feature clear glass grooves, medallions and swags which are finely parcel gilt and enamelled with flowers and scrolls.
