This pair of early 20th Century mirrors is manufactured in the manner of Chippendale in a highly ornate Rococo style. Each mirror contains a rectangular mirror plate within an elaborate giltwood frame. The frame of each mirror is extensively pierced, granting the entire structure a remarkably light and fluid quality. Each frame features scrolling foliate motifs throughout, particularly along the course of each side where vines in leaf wind vertically from the bottom corner to the top. The bottom and top of each frame features a pierced medallion form, the top medallion being flanked by ornately carved shoulders draped in acanthus leaves. The top of the frame is surmounted by a pagoda form finial that supports five hanging giltwood bells.
