The oil lamps are of matching design. Each lamp stands on an ormolu (gilt bronze) base, which is decorated with pierced scrollwork, and set on four bamboo-form feet. The lamps’ bodies are shaped like vases, with bulbous bottoms and cylindrical necks. These bodies are decorated with cloisonné enamel images. Their bottoms feature stylised flowers against turquoise grounds and their necks are encircled by yellow and turquoise bands decorated with flowers, geometric motifs and Chinese characters. The vase-form bodies are topped by ormolu covers which are edged with ruyi heads. Each lamp is fitted with a pierced collar and a wick-raiser knob. The burners are covered by clear glass chimneys and frosted glass ball shades.
