Description

The blue-grey marble vases are raised up on ormolu (gilt bronze) tripod supports, which stand on slim, triform marble and ormolu bases. These supports take the form of swans, which each stand on a single leg, terminating in a paw foot. The swans wear armour-like body plates, their wings are outstretched, their necks arched and facial expressions fierce. The swans carry marble vase bowls, which are encircled by foliate ormolu bands. The bowls are topped by pierced ormolu lids, which will allow the scent of the dried petals and spices of the pot-pourri to diffuse across the room. Ring handles ensure the lids can be easily removed.
