Description

The vases are Neoclassical in style, and take after the Classical Greek style of vase, the amphora, in shape. Their slender bodies are shaped from faience, a type of fine, tin-glazed pottery. The main part of the body of each vase is mounted with Greek key motifs, a geometrical design joined with laurel garlands. High, rectangular twin handles in the Greek style are mounted on to the bodies of the vases. Both vases are set on circular gilt metal bases with an egg and dart design on the base rim.
