Description

Each porcelain vase in this pair features an ovoid body, a curved neck, and a waisted socle above a flared foot. The Sèvres style cobalt blue porcelain ground of the vases is finely parcel gilt, while each vase features gilt framed cartouches to the front and the reverse: the cartouches to the front are painted with scenes of courting couples, while the cartouches to the reverse feature idyllic landscapes. Each vase features scrolling gilt metal twin handles to the top and a gilt metal four-footed base below. The painted scenes are signed by the artist.
