The porcelain bodies of the Chinese vases are of typical shape and are decorated all over in the fine Canton famille rose style, depicting highly detailed figural court scenes and surrounding gardens, with a focus on pink and green hues. Each vase has twin porcelain handles around the neck in the form of mythical beasts. The vases would have been made for the European market and each stand on a French ormolu base, of octagonal shape, raised on four acanthus leaf-form feet.
