Pair of large Austrian Royal Vienna style porcelain vases

These splendid, elegant vases have been designed and completed in the style of the famed Royal Vienna Porcelain Manufactory, Europe's second oldest porcelain factory and one of its most prestigious. They are an impressive early 20th Century take on the grand Neoclassical style in which the Royal Vienna makers achieved high distinction.

Each vase is ovoid in shape and set on a large square base. The bases and bodies of the vases are decorated all over their exteriors with mythological scenes in landscapes, on maroon ground with gilt floral detailing.

The vases have twin gilt ground handles, and each vase has a cover which is similarly decorated and surmounted by an ovoid finial

Each vase also bears a spurious beehive mark - the mark of the Royal Vienna Manufactory - to the underside.
