Description

The white porcelain vases are set on shaped square ormolu (gilt bronze) bases. They stand on splayed feet which are encircled by ormolu beading and stiff-leaf bands. These feet are finely painted with parcel gilt turquoise foliage and white flowers. The vases’ bodies are ovoid and feature detailed paintings of winged female figures and cherubs, playing musical instruments and dancing. The figures are surrounded by cherry blossom branches, butterflies and dragonflies. The vases’ waisted necks and domed lids are decorated in a similar style to their feet. These lids are crowned by ormolu foliate finials.

The paintings on the vases' bodies are signed ‘LEROUX’.
