Each of the tables features a circular lapis lazuli inset top, on three ormolu bamboo-form legs joined by a triangular tablet. They are set on three arched ormolu sabots, the ormolu rim of which is monogrammed 'HD'. In this pair of tables Dasson was inspired by Adam Weisweiler's 'gueridon doubles colonnettes'.The typical features of the tables include the bamboo shaped legs and the precious stone inset top. There have been a number of variations of the tables, which have included tops inset with Wedgwood porcelain, lacquer or lapis lazuli. Examples of these tables have been given as gifts to Madame du Barry and the Comte Skavronsky.
