The centrepieces are of identical design. They stand on ormolu (gilt bronze) rectangular bases with scalloped corners. These bases are decorated with stylised leafy, fruiting scrolled vines, square and oval rosettes. The centrepieces are composed of fluted glass bowls which are supported on ormolu splayed feet. The feet are cable fluted—the flutes partially filled with husk trails—and their edges encircled by stylised wreaths. The glass bowls are topped by wide, slightly flared ormolu mouths which are subtly decorated with floral and foliate patterns. The interiors of the mouths are decorated with bands of leafy scrolled vines, dotted with clusters of grapes and flowers. Each centrepiece is mounted with two ormolu handles, which take the form of stylised, scrolled foliage.
