Pair of mother-of-pearl inlaid wooden antique Chinese stands

These superb Chinese stands, faultless in their execution, have a delightful minimalism about them, due to their visual clarity and the limited use of the beautiful mother-of-pearl inlay decoration. Standing just over one metre tall, each piece features a middle compartment with a drawer between two areas of almost exactly the same volume. The inlaid mother-of-pearl decoration is featured on only two of the four sides creating a pleasing contrast between the front and back, which also prevents the two stands from being overpowered or suffocated by too much use of the white floral pattern.
