Description

The pedestals in this pair are crafted from ormolu, marble, and porcelain in the Neoclassical style. Each pedestal features a green-ground porcelain shaft, with one shaft centred with a painted portrait of Napoleon enclosed within a gilt cartouche, and the other a portrait of Josephine. The shaft of each features an ormolu capital and base, each moulded with banding. The column of each pedestal supports a square marble plateau, and each is raised on a cuboid marble plinth adorned with ormolu wreath mounts and set atop ormolu feet.
