Each of baluster form supported on an ormolu mounted hexagonal base, these grand and imposing marble antique pedestrals were made in France in the 19th century, and combine the sumptuous ornate quality of gilt-bronze with the imposing majesty of black marble. The fluted column is partly ornamented with trailing ormolu foliates, and they each bear a fine and stepped circular top. Veins of white are scattered throughout the marble, which lends them an air of history, age, and presence; they are a truly rare and superb pair of stands upon which to mount any fine antique, or otherwise, decorative object.
