These cabinets are of rectangular form, and they are placed on bases with shaped aprons and sides. The fronts of the bases are mounted with scrolling, foliate ormolu (gilt bronze) mounts, and their upper edges lined with ormolu egg-and-dart bands. The cabinet bodies accomodate storage spaces, which are contained behind closed doors. They are decorated, on their fronts, with colourful ‘pietra dura’ (Italian: ‘hard stone’) central panels, depicting butterflies and birds perched on the branches of cherry trees. These are set within oval ormolu frames, cast as fruit wreaths, with crossed oak branches below and crinkled ribbon bows above. These are set within rectangular ormolu foliate borders, which are flanked by ormolu crowned trophy motifs (one of which functions as a keyhole).
The corners of the cabinets’ fronts feature ormolu rosettes and foliate mounts. On either side, there are ormolu trails of bell flowers and ormolu espagnolette sculptures, which take the form of half-length semi-nude women, carrying flower baskets on their heads. The cabinets’ sides are decorated with central ormolu classical female masks, accompanied by foliate ormolu corner mounts.
Each cabinet body is topped by a frieze, decorated with ormolu leafy motifs, and a central ‘pietra dura’ panel of a bird. The cabinets' friezes are edged with foliate ormolu bands and covered by flat, slightly projecting wooden tops.
