This pair of tables de nuit (bedside or side cabinets) is designed in the Louis XV style. Each cabinet is of square form and is surmounted by an inset marble top. The body of each cabinet is bombe shaped, enclosing an upper short drawer and a lower drop front cupboard, the latter of which opens into a marble interior. Each cabinet stands on four cabriole legs, which meet the body with a shallow apron. The legs are joined by a lower shelf and stand on scrolled and foliate ormolu (gilt bronze) pad feet.
Foliate ormolu mounts encompass the borders of the façades of the upper short drawer and the lower drop front cupboard of each cabinet. Each of the three remaining sides are similarly decorated with mounted ormolu cartouches in a manner that imitates the form of the front drawer and cupboard. The vertical lengths of the corners of each cabinet are set with ornate ormolu foliate mounts. Original keys for the drawer and cupboard are included for each of the two cabinets.
