Description

By the skilled French artist and prolific designer of animalier and animal sculptures in the 19th century, Jules Moigniez, these delightful sculptures depict a pair of partridges, executed in bronze, with a charming, warm patina to finish.

They each stand upon a leafy base, with rocks and shrubbery naturalistically rendered. Their quirky, lively character is skifully conveyed, strutting around inquisitively, their feathers and bodily structure is superbly rendered, as is common for Moigniez's oeuvre.

They stands 30 and 32cm high, and are each signed 'J. Moigniez' for the artist on the base.
