These superb items of Judaica are a pair of large, highly ornate, and beautifully radiant Torah finials, also known as Rimonim, which are wrought from silver and embellished with beautiful touches of silver gilt, from the star of David on top to the bells, lions, and stags, that encompass each piece.
While two bells are unfortunately missing, the decorative scheme, with stars of David above, embossed sections of silver, and applied friezes of lions, bells, and stags, with beaded bands to the bases, is particularly beautiful and aesthetically pleasing.
Made in England in the early twentieth century, they are hallmarked 'M.S' for Moses Salkind and dated and situated London, 1926. Each piece is 40cm tall, and 9cm in diameter at the widest point.
